Boiler repair in London
The short answer
Common boiler faults are low pressure, a frozen condensate pipe, ignition failure, a faulty diverter valve, pump or fan, and leaks. Check the display for a fault code and the pressure gauge for 1 to 1.5 bar. Any repair inside the boiler must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Our Gas Safe registered engineers diagnose and fix boiler breakdowns of all kinds: thermostats, pressure problems, leaking pipes, pumps, fans, diverter valves and ignition failures.
We tell you what's wrong and what it will cost before we start. If the boiler is old, unsafe or uneconomical to repair, we'll say so and quote for a replacement. Our engineers will show you their Gas Safe ID card when they arrive.

FAQs
Boiler repair questions, answered
Why does my boiler keep losing pressure?
Pressure loss means water is escaping from the sealed heating system. Common causes are a leaking radiator valve or pipe joint, a faulty pressure relief valve, or a failed expansion vessel. Topping up with the filling loop is a short-term fix. If it drops again within days, the leak needs finding.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave the property, don't use light switches or anything that could spark, and open doors and windows if it's safe. Turn off the gas at the meter and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. Once they've made it safe, call us to repair the fault.
Should I repair or replace my boiler?
Repair usually makes sense if the boiler is under about 10 years old and parts are available. Replacement is worth considering if it breaks down often, parts are obsolete, or repair costs approach the price of a new boiler. We'll give you an honest view and a clear quote either way.
How do I know an engineer is Gas Safe registered?
Every Gas Safe registered engineer carries an ID card with their photo and licence number. Ask to see it, and check it on the Gas Safe Register website or by calling them. Our business registration number is 971890.

All 165 reviewsEljo from Urgent Plumbers London Ltd is one of, if not the most responsive tradesman I've come across - replied to queries and messages quickly without fuss, and clearly explained issues/reasoning with any work required. Always arrived when he said he would too and was happy to provide all relevant documentation (Gas Safe etc) when asked - would recommend. Quoted for boiler service/replaced our boiler when it was found to be un-serviceable.
Urgent Plumbers were fantastic when my boiler leaked. It was at the worst time possible -early on a Sunday morning when I was rushing out to work. He was so calm , turned up quickly as promised and then was so efficient at working out and fixing the problem. He was also so kind as I was terrified how much it would all cost for a Sunday emergency call out Thank you so much - you're an absolute hero
I'm really pleased with the service. All in the same day the gentleman came to fix an issue in the bathroom. A leaking pipe fixed. Very friendly and professional. I totally recommend their service. Thanks again 😊
