Hidden plumbing leaks in London
The short answer
Signs of a hidden leak include damp patches, ceiling stains, mould, peeling paint, warm spots on the floor, the sound of running water, a boiler that keeps losing pressure, and a rising water bill. Non-invasive leak detection finds the source so only the necessary section of floor or wall is opened.
Hidden leaks cause damp, mould, rotten floors and ceiling damage, often long before you see water. Finding the source quickly limits the damage and the repair bill.
We use non-invasive detection methods to pinpoint leaks without pulling up whole floors. Once found, we repair the leak at source and advise on preventing it happening again.

FAQs
Hidden plumbing leaks questions, answered
How can I tell if I have a hidden water leak?
Turn off every tap and water-using appliance, then check your water meter. If it's still moving, water is escaping somewhere. Other signs are damp patches, ceiling stains, mould, warm spots on the floor and a boiler that keeps losing pressure. Call us if you notice any of these.
My leak is coming through to the flat below. What should I do?
Turn off the water at your stopcock straight away, and switch off electrics near the leak if it's safe. Then call us. We'll find the source, often under a bath or shower tray, and repair it. Let your neighbour know and take photos for any insurance claim.
Will you have to take up my floor to find a leak?
We use non-invasive methods to narrow down the leak's position before opening anything up. That means if access is needed, it's a small, targeted opening rather than a whole floor. We'll always explain what needs opening and why before we start.
What customers say
All 165 reviewsEljo from Urgent Plumbers London Ltd is one of, if not the most responsive tradesman I've come across - replied to queries and messages quickly without fuss, and clearly explained issues/reasoning with any work required. Always arrived when he said he would too and was happy to provide all relevant documentation (Gas Safe etc) when asked - would recommend. Quoted for boiler service/replaced our boiler when it was found to be un-serviceable.
Urgent Plumbers were fantastic when my boiler leaked. It was at the worst time possible -early on a Sunday morning when I was rushing out to work. He was so calm , turned up quickly as promised and then was so efficient at working out and fixing the problem. He was also so kind as I was terrified how much it would all cost for a Sunday emergency call out Thank you so much - you're an absolute hero
I'm really pleased with the service. All in the same day the gentleman came to fix an issue in the bathroom. A leaking pipe fixed. Very friendly and professional. I totally recommend their service. Thanks again 😊
