Power flushes in London
The short answer
A power flush is a deep clean of a central heating system. A pump is connected to the system and circulates water and cleaning chemicals at high flow to dislodge sludge, rust and debris, which are then flushed out. It fixes cold spots, slow heating and noisy boilers caused by blocked circulation.
Over time, sludge, rust and debris collect in radiators and pipes. Circulation slows, radiators develop cold spots, and the boiler works harder, which costs more to run and can shorten its life.
We connect a power flushing pump to your system, circulate cleaning chemicals to break the sludge down, flush it out and refill with clean water and inhibitor. Many customers notice warmer radiators and a quieter boiler straight away.

FAQs
Power flushes questions, answered
How do I know if my heating needs a power flush?
Signs include radiators that are cold at the bottom, some radiators heating while others stay cold, a boiler that bangs or gurgles, and black water when you bleed a radiator. If bleeding and balancing the radiators doesn't help, sludge is the likely cause.
How long does a power flush take?
Most homes take most of a day, depending on how many radiators there are and how dirty the system is. The heating is off while we work. We flush each radiator in turn until the water runs clear, then refill the system with fresh water and corrosion inhibitor.
Do I need a power flush before a new boiler?
It's strongly recommended. Sludge from an old system can damage a new boiler's heat exchanger, and many manufacturers expect the system to be cleaned before installation for the warranty to apply. We'll check your system and advise whether a power flush is needed.
What customers say
All 165 reviewsEljo from Urgent Plumbers London Ltd is one of, if not the most responsive tradesman I've come across - replied to queries and messages quickly without fuss, and clearly explained issues/reasoning with any work required. Always arrived when he said he would too and was happy to provide all relevant documentation (Gas Safe etc) when asked - would recommend. Quoted for boiler service/replaced our boiler when it was found to be un-serviceable.
Urgent Plumbers were fantastic when my boiler leaked. It was at the worst time possible -early on a Sunday morning when I was rushing out to work. He was so calm , turned up quickly as promised and then was so efficient at working out and fixing the problem. He was also so kind as I was terrified how much it would all cost for a Sunday emergency call out Thank you so much - you're an absolute hero
I'm really pleased with the service. All in the same day the gentleman came to fix an issue in the bathroom. A leaking pipe fixed. Very friendly and professional. I totally recommend their service. Thanks again 😊
