Toilet repairs in London
The short answer
A toilet that keeps running usually has a worn flush valve seal or a fill valve that won't shut off. A weak or failed flush is often a broken push button, cable or siphon. A leak at the base points to a failed pan seal. Most toilet repairs are completed in a single visit.
A running toilet can waste a lot of water and push up a metered bill. A leaking one can rot the floor beneath it. We diagnose the fault, fit quality parts and make sure the toilet flushes and refills properly before we leave.
We repair close-coupled, back-to-wall, wall-hung and concealed-cistern toilets, and we can replace the whole toilet if that makes more sense.

FAQs
Toilet repairs questions, answered
Why does my toilet keep running?
Water trickling into the pan usually means the flush valve seal is worn, or the fill valve isn't shutting off and water is escaping down the overflow. Both are inexpensive parts to replace. Lifting the cistern lid and watching where the water goes usually shows which one has failed.
Why is there water around the base of my toilet?
Water at the base can come from a failed pan connector or seal, a leaking cistern-to-pan joint, or condensation in cold weather. Wipe it dry, flush, and watch where it reappears. A leaking pan seal should be fixed quickly before it damages the floor or the ceiling below.
Can you fix a concealed cistern toilet?
Yes. Concealed cisterns are reached through the flush plate or an access panel. Most faults, like a worn flush valve or a failed fill valve, can be repaired through that opening without removing tiles. If there's no access panel, we'll explain the options before starting.
What customers say
All 165 reviewsEljo from Urgent Plumbers London Ltd is one of, if not the most responsive tradesman I've come across - replied to queries and messages quickly without fuss, and clearly explained issues/reasoning with any work required. Always arrived when he said he would too and was happy to provide all relevant documentation (Gas Safe etc) when asked - would recommend. Quoted for boiler service/replaced our boiler when it was found to be un-serviceable.
Urgent Plumbers were fantastic when my boiler leaked. It was at the worst time possible -early on a Sunday morning when I was rushing out to work. He was so calm , turned up quickly as promised and then was so efficient at working out and fixing the problem. He was also so kind as I was terrified how much it would all cost for a Sunday emergency call out Thank you so much - you're an absolute hero
I'm really pleased with the service. All in the same day the gentleman came to fix an issue in the bathroom. A leaking pipe fixed. Very friendly and professional. I totally recommend their service. Thanks again 😊
